Seventh Week of Easter | Wednesday | May 20, 2026 | Readings: Acts 20:28–38, Psalm 68:29–30, 33–35a, 35bc–36ab, and John 17:11b–19

Paul’s farewell in Acts is filled with love for the flock entrusted to him. He reminds the elders to guard the Church not out of duty alone, but with hearts moved by love, ready to sacrifice for the sake of Christ’s people. In the Gospel, Jesus prays that His disciples may be consecrated in truth and protected in the Father’s love. His prayer is a tender act of love, ensuring that those who follow Him will remain united and faithful.

Love is the thread that binds leadership, service, and holiness. To shepherd others is to love them enough to guide, protect, and even suffer for them. To live in truth is to let love shape our choices and actions.

Reflection point: How can I let love—patient, protective, and self-giving—be the mark of my service in family, parish, and community, so that others may encounter Christ’s truth through me?
